We recently got some little quail in our backyard. They are so cute and make the cutest noise. We're so glad that Sabino Canyon is right next to us and that it's SPRING.

Another Book
So, I got through another great book. The library reccomended it to me when I told her that I liked historical fiction. It's called Ashes of Roses by Mary Jane Auch.
It's about a girl named Rose who comes to America from Ireland in the early 20th century. When she gets to Ellis Island, her brother does not pass the health inspection and her father and brother are forced to go back while the rest of the family remains in New York with Rose's uncle. Everything seems to be going fine except that Uncle Patrick's family is cruel and unwelcoming to the Nolans. In the end, Rose's mother and youngest sister go back on a ship to Ireland, but Rose is determined to stay in America, so she gets a job at a factory along with her other little sister, Maureen. Rose faces many challenges including getting around Mr. Moscovitz with the help of her friend, Gussie. The end is quite dramatic and a little scary for younger children. But, like Rilla of Ingleside, it's very insightful. I really reccomend this book.

Rilla of Ingleside
I am just finishing reading this great book. It is a sequel to Anne of Green Gables, and I love it. It is very insightful and it is one of my all-time favorites.
I have been reading the Anne of Green Gables series since my mom reccomended the first book to me. The other books are as well-written, but there seems to be something more in this book. Something that there cannot be peace always.
This book was written by L.M. Montgomery, who lived from 1874-1942. Her book takes place in 1914-1918, during the times of WW 2. It's amazing how much impact a war can have on people.
" 'And two years ago this morning I woke wondering what delightful gift the new day would give me. These are the two years I thought would be filled with fun.'
'Would you exchange them -now- for two years filled with fun?'
'No,' said Rilla slowly. 'I wouldn't. It's strange- isn't it?- They have been two terrible years- and yet I have a queer feeling of thankfullness for them- as if they had brought me something very precious, with all their pain. I wouldn't want to go back and be the girl I was two years ago, not even if I could. Not that I've made any wonderful progress- but I'm not quite the selfish, frivolous little doll I was then. I suppose I had a soul then, Miss Oliver- but I didn't know it. I know it now- and that is worth a great deal- worth all the suffering of the past two years."
One thing I learned from this book is that war makes people older in spirit. And that makes me feel sure that we are in a war today.

Types of Posts
Since I have been making many posts recently, I want to be able to create the coolest posts. But I need ideas from my audience. One idea I had was to have more posts focusing on the rest of my family. I also thought of doing posts with people photoshoped with beards. (I think I'll do that one, with or without the agreement of my audience.) Other ideas include: allowing Kimmer to share my blog with me, putting up more pictures, putting interesting facts on random things, poetry, history reports, and posting pictures of cute ideas and modest "fashion shows".
